Our Impact Section 2 Image

Service is an essential value of REAL Leadership, and a core value of ALA.

We know that true fulfillment can only be found in being of service to others.

That’s why ALA students are dedicated to making a difference not only in their own lives but also in the world at large.

Since ALA opened its doors in 2016, more than 53 teams have passionately selected an organization to support through their collective efforts and shared commitment to service.

“Freedom Dogs is a non-profit organization based in Oceanside, California that trains specialty service dogs to provide assistance for a brief period of time or for permanent placement for Service Members recovering from PTSD, TBI, and/or other physical limitations. The estimated cost for one dog over a two-year training period is $50,000.

We were so grateful and definitely blessed to be a recipient of Ascension Leadership Academy’s outstanding generosity, which provided the funds to train and support two puppies who have been placed with their “Forever Service Member.” ALA continues to demonstrate what is possible when the mission and passion are so powerful while providing such valuable assistance to non-profits as they strive to improve their communities.”

“The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank would like to thank Ascension Leadership Academy for supporting our Food 4 Kids Backpack Program. Their generous donation of $103,376 had great impact. We were able to provide nutritious food to 515 chronically hungry children for one school year. Each of the children received a kid-friendly bag of food to take home over the weekend when school meals are not available. Thanks to caring supporters like ALA, the Food Bank is able to feed over 500,000 people throughout the county, per month.”

“ALA was the first time I ever experienced unconditional love which allowed me to feel safe enough to tell my story and face my pain in a way that led to the emotional freedom I was searching for. Thank you to my ALA family.”

“When I entered the training, I was lost. I was unhappy with my career, and I was unfulfilled in my life.

Because I had the courage to step through those doors and take a real hard look at my life and work on myself, I was able to not only graduate the program, I thrived! And I found an incredibly supportive community.”

“ALA supported me in finding my voice & becoming the person I was born to be.

I had lost that 20+ years ago, but didn't know it. I was chasing a legacy rather than living the moment. ALA opened my heart to the possibilities & to set my intention to live MY life rather than someone else's.”

“What I have learned from ALA has shifted the way I think about my vision for my life.

I now realize that I can be anything, empower anyone, and have unreasonable courage to take a stand for anything I see possible as well as standing for our colleagues and customers during challenging times.”

“I can now say as a Level 3 graduate that signing up was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

There were more great takeaways than I could possibly list here, but one of the most powerful was that we should never judge others, because we have no idea what shaped them until we’ve taken the time to really listen and connect with them. Once we do, it’s almost impossible not to see them in an entirely new, much more empathetic light. ALA was--by a wide margin-- the most impactful leadership program I’ve ever taken part in.”
